First in Service Friday: Anna Olson

MAY 5, 2023

FIRST IN SERVICE FRIDAY. Please help the City of Myrtle Beach congratulate PFC Anna Olson of the Myrtle Beach Police Department for being this week's First in Service Friday Employee of the week!

PFC Olson recently exemplified what it means to put your community first as a Myrtle Beach Police officer when she saved a father and his two sons from drowning. That is something to be proud of!

Originally from Menomonie, Wisconsin, PFC Olson has worked for the City of Myrtle Beach for two years as a police officer. You may see her along the Boardwalk because she's part of MBPD's Waterfront Division. She says her favorite part about being a police officer is seeing the ocean every day and getting to work on the beach. Her nomination reads:

"I would like to nominate PFC Anna Olson for "First in Service Friday Employee of the Week." PFC Olson is always in high spirits and loves to interact with the community. PFC Olsen has participated in several events such as Shop with a Hero, Rock the Stop, Career Day Fair and other events that get her involved in community policing.

Additionally, she has gone to the Myrtle Beach Middle School to encourage other young ladies and engage in fun activities and positive conversations. PFC Olson not only has a wonderful heart and strong will to work, she recently rescued a father and his two sons who were reported to be drowning. PFC Olson's heroic decision saved the lives of three people and kept a family safe. PFC Olson is always going above and beyond for her co-workers and community. She has a servant's heart and the courage to match it, which is why she deserves recognition."

Thank you for your dedication to the community, City of Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach Police Department! We are lucky to have you and you are appreciated!
