First in Service Friday: Ron Gary

MAY 12, 2023

FIRST IN SERVICE FRIDAY.  Please help the City of Myrtle Beach congratulate Ron Gary of the Planning and Zoning Department for being this week's First in Service Friday Employee of the Week! Ron has worked for the City of Myrtle Beach for almost 27 years. He began his career in the Finance Department in 1996 and held various positions while there. He's now a code enforcement officer and has been since 2017. He's originally from Pawleys Island. Ron has this to say about coming to work:

"I love what I do! The most rewarding thing about my job is seeing things coming into play from beginning to end. No two days are ever the same here! I just love serving the public, and I take pride in being 'First in Service.' But, what I love most about my job is my work family! We are actually like family, and I genuinely appreciate everyone on our team. I look forward to keep working for the COMB for many years to come!"

Ron's nomination reads:

"I would like to nominate Ron Gary from the Planning and Zoning Department for the First in Service Friday award. Ron has been with the city 20+ years, working in different departments throughout his career. He is a role model for the 'First in Service' mentality by showing that it's as important to have while working not only with citizens, but also co-workers. With his current role in the Planning and Zoning Department, Ron has stepped up to take on new tasks that he would not normally handle in order to help the department during a time where we short-handed."

That is a "First in Service" team player. Thank you, Ron, for your many years of service, friendship and dedication. You are appreciated!
