Art Museum receives new stairs

August 14, 2023

Replacement stairs are complete at the F.G. Burroughs-S.B. Chapin Art Museum in Myrtle Beach! The original stairs had deteriorated through time and weather exposure and were no longer safe. The city hired a contractor to remove the old stairs and rebuild a new staircase which connects to the Tea Porch.  (The stairs are used for special events and are not the main entrance to the building.)  The original oceanfront house dates to 1924 and was moved to its current location at 3100 South Ocean Boulevard in 1984.
