City of Myrtle Beach closes at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, due to weather

The City of Myrtle Beach closed all offices, facilities and recreation centers at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, due to the weather.  All programs and activities are also cancelled.  The Myrtle Beach court is closed.  Please call 843-918-1356 to reschedule your court appearance.  We expect to resume regular operations Wednesday, January 10.  

What to know in Myrtle Beach ahead of today's storm (Tuesday, January 9):
- It is a double red flag day. That means no one is allowed in the Atlantic Ocean. For your safety, please stay off the beach.
- City of Myrtle Beach offices, facilities and recreation centers close for the day at 1:00 p.m. We expect to resume regular operations Wednesday, January 10, at 8:00 a.m.
- There will be no court on Tuesday. If you were scheduled to appear in court today, please call 843-918-1356 to reschedule.
- All City of Myrtle Beach programs and after school activities are cancelled Tuesday, January 9.
- Recycling and solid waste pick up is on a regular schedule today. If Tuesday is your regular recycling and solid waste pick up, please return your pelican to its secure spot as soon as possible after pick up.
- Please reserve 911 for emergencies only. Myrtle Beach's non-emergency line is 843-918-1382.
The Myrtle Beach Emergency Operations Center is running with minimal staff today to coordinate any city needs. Our public safety and emergency staff are also working their regular schedules.
