First in Service Friday: Brenda Decker
Please help the City of Myrtle Beach congratulate Brenda Decker for being this week's First in Service Friday Employee of the Week! Brenda is the office assistant for Pepper Geddings Recreation Center, and has been for 16 years. She moved to Myrtle Beach from upstate New York and immediately began working for the city. Brenda said her favorite part about her career is the people she meets and the PRST staff she works with. Her nomination reads:
"Brenda Decker has been the Office Assistant at Pepper Geddings for 16 years. She is the glue that holds everything together. In addition to the programs and classes at Pepper Geddings, Brenda is also tasked with knowing the ins and outs of Aquatics, Youth Sports, Youth Programs and Summer Camps. Brenda is basically the "Recreation Encyclopedia," and almost always knows the answer to any question that she receives. In the rare occurrence that she doesn’t know the answer, she knows who to contact to get the right answer. Brenda goes above and beyond every single day, and completes tasks prior to being asked. She is the epitome of First in Service, and she is a great asset to our Recreation Department."
A co-worker yelled that "Brenda is the glue that holds us together!" while she was receiving her First in Service Friday award. Thank you, Brenda, for your dedication. You are appreciated!
