Chapin Memorial Library has a new roof!

You may not have noticed, but a contractor re-roofed the whole building this summer at a cost of $222,600. Yes, the City of Myrtle Beach is making plans for a new library as part of the Arts & Innovation District downtown, but we also need to maintain the buildings that we have. The old roof at Chapin Memorial Library leaked badly and had not been replaced in 20-plus years. The original part of the 25,000 square foot library dates to 1949, although it was expanded through the years. These photos of the project were provided by Spann Roofing.
