Emergency City Council Meeting set for 1:30 p.m., March 26

The Myrtle Beach City Council will hold an emergency meeting at 1:30 p.m. today.  This will be a telephone conference call among City Council members and staff, to maintain social distancing, but we plan to broadcast the audio of the conference call (and video of any file presentations) via the city’s Facebook page and our usual cable broadcasts on both the Spectrum and HTC networks.  (We tested this technology yesterday, and believe it will work.)  The city’s public information channel is visible on Spectrum’s channel 1303 and on HTC’s channel 9.

Note:  According to the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act, emergency meetings of public bodies are not required to follow the 24-hour notice requirements in place for all non-emergency meetings.
