Myrtle Beach re-opens beach accesses; City Council to meet again Thursday regarding hotels

City Manager John Pedersen today rescinded the emergency order that had closed the public beach accesses and adjacent parking areas.   Access to the beach and paid parking are available immediately, although it may be a day or two before the barricades are removed.  You may walk around the barricades while they are still in place.  Of course, safe social distancing is required on the beach and will be enforced.  Swim at your own risk, lifeguards are not on post, yet!

The Myrtle Beach City Council today discussed the future of short-term, but delayed a final decision until a special meeting at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 30.  Currently, hotels are allowed to accept new reservations beginning May 1 .
